The SA Riding Pony of the Year show was held on Sunday
31st January at Mt Pleasant featuring two
interstate judges, Mr Greg Gerry and Mr Darren Telford.
The show featured the new National Riding Pony Program
offering more prizes for offer to competitors. It was a
warm day but entries were good across the majority of
classes.
The led Youngstock Supreme Champion Show Pony of the
Year was eventually won by the classy filly Kolbeach
Victoria Secret by Fernleigh Fine Print out of the
exquisite Ardenhall Royal Secret imp who is
undoubtedly one of the best performed riding ponies to
come from the UK. This filly, owned and bred by Kolbeach
Stud, went on to win the Grand Supreme led Riding Pony
of the Year which is commendable for a yearling and
shows she most definitely will be one we will keep
hearing about.
The Supreme Led Senior Show Pony of the Year was won by
Argyl Stud’s Kolbeach Showgirl by Camargue Tribute
imp out of Helden Park Calendar Girl. This lovely
mare went on to win Grand Supreme Ridden Riding Pony of
the year.
Leading Rein Pony of the Year was won by the typey
Springvale Cup Day (s. Kolbeach Royalty d. Lesfield Blue
Denim) owned by the Francis, Gale & Kennedy families.
First Ridden Riding Pony of the Year was won by Silkwood
Nutkin (s. Deanhills Benjamin d. Silkwood Satin Ribbons)
owned by Corumbene Stud. |
