Bockmann have been producing horse floats (and other trailers) for the last 50 years. More than 30 years ago they pioneered the polyester fibreglass body and have continually refined it. In Europe one can still see some of the early models being used, they have proven themselves to be almost indestructible.

Over the years, Bockmann have continued to add new models and more features, all designed to be first of all horse-friendly and above all, safe for the person using the float and for the horse.

General release of the Bockmann brand in Australia was at Equitana 2005. To my knowledge there was only one Bockmann float in this country before then, it belongs to the great Harry Boldt, who brought it with him when he moved to Perth from his native Germany. Of course, many Australians had seen this distinctive product in Europe and some have even used one there. Rozzie Ryan mentioned that she borrowed one for her trip to the Paris World Cup Final when she transported Excellent from Holland to France. She told me that she had a fantastic trip with it.

Everything made by Bockmann is available in Australia.But the float models usually in stock here are :The Comfort, the Master, the Big Master and the Top Master as well as the front-unloading Duo Porta.

It is important to remember that these floats have been designed by the Bockmann family for the safe transport of their Oldenburg stallions and competition horses. So, all the models can accommodate two great big German warmbloods. They are higher and wider and usually also longer than the normal double float.

They are also beautifully engineered to the highest German standards.

And because of the materials used, they don’t rust, rot, or rattle.
