The 2010
Tasmanian all welsh was held at Campbell town show grounds
on 16th January. this years judges were Owen Jones from
Wales judging the pure breds, Carolynn West
from New Zealand judging partbreds and native ponies.
The Champion Welsh Mountain Pony Filly was Llanfairbryn
Delwyn owned by Marrabach Pony Stud. In addition, champion
welsh mountain colt and best section A young stock was
Glenfine Memphis Maytime – Glenfine Stud,
the A
stallion class saw only one entry ant that was Llangollen Tegid owned by the Hawkes family. Tegid went on the be
supreme in hand exhibit.
The section A mare classes were well supported with
Shandamar Rhianna owned by S & M Shephard sashed champion A
mare and Llangollen Camellia was reserve and Camellias foal
that is yet to be named was the best foal exhibit..
There were only a few section B entered but the stallion who
was a very nice type went on to win supreme section B and he
was Owendale Prince of Orange owned by Debbie Cowenwas.
In the section Cs the champion mare was Synod
Matilda owned by M & R Wansbrough and the champion colt and
best C exhibit was Bay leaf Sianwnyn owned by J & K Parish,
the section D classes unfortunately had only the one entry,
champion mare and supreme D went to Scolinda Golden Sunshine
owned by Scott & Belinda Atkinson. The gelding class were
well supported the champion gelding three years and under
was Desert Gold Oliver Twist, Young Champion Gelding 4 yrs
& over and supreme gelding was Tjuringa Gerallt owned by
Tracy Canham.
Some of the bigger classes for the day were the Part Breds
and the champion Part Welsh Filly 3 yrs & under and
supreme part bred JR was Northern Winds Ever So Fair owned
by Janelle Calder. In the senior classes Dutton Lea Select
leased by Leonie Kirkhopeere shone thru to win the best part
bred.
Unfortunately there were only a few ponies in the ridden
classes the supreme ridden pure bred was Bamborough
Jitterbug and Rachel Knott and the supreme ridden part bred
was Shiranna Irish Cream – D Cowen, Cheryl Shadbolt |
