The summer royal Horse show this year runs from 23rd to 26th January. Once again at Werribee Park and show casting over thirty breeds over the three days. The first day brought a variety of weather with everything from rain to sunshine and wind. The weather did not seem to affect the enthusiasm of competitors at this years show although entries seemed to be down on last year Quality still shone in all rings.

Just a small number of exhibitors and breeders to do well today included Marconi stud. Lisa O'Neill bred the Champion Welsh B Filly (going on to win supreme welsh exhibit) and B Colt champion, as well as the Champion Ridden welsh exhibit. The Grey Family from Elargee stud bred and exhibited both the Welsh A colt and filly both two fine examples of the breed. The Kooyong stud once again won supreme Australian Pony Exhibit this year with the mare Kooyong Amethyst .

The beautiful Black Gelding Cavaggio owned by Carter and Noonan won the Thoroughbred supreme championship . Champion Led show pony colt went to  Argyll studs Kolbeach Royalist from SA.

Day two kicks off with the open breed, part welsh, Australian saddle ponies, Buckskins and many more breeds. The show concludes on Monday with the judging of the supreme exhibit of the show with all supreme champions from the three days competing to win the ultimate all breeds sash.
