Everton Stud is a picturesque 100 acre property quietly nestled amongst the undulating valleys of Mt Disappointment in Whittlesea, Victoria, only 45 minutes north of Melbournes CBD. This boutique stud breeds and raises a small number of high quality foals each year. Using frozen semen from Germanys best stallions over their proven band of broodmares, Everton Stud has produced multiple Elite Mare candidates, national foal award winners and outstanding riding horses. The studs breeding achievements are very impressive and on target meeting Kaye and Chris’s expectations.

So what is the recent news and expected arrivals this stud season?

Kate: “Well even though Winter is our traditionally quiet time, we have still been very busy. The excellent rain here in Victoria has encouraged us to resow half the property with permanent Equiturf pasture and drop in a new dam. We also have two very exciting young horses starting their dressage careers that are in full work.

The first is Everton Reconnaissance who is by Rosario (Rubinstein x Castro) out of our matriarch Briarfield Court. I ride this horse personally and he really is just so exciting. However I had a 4 year break from riding when I had the two children, so it has taken a massive increase in fitness to be able to keep on top of his movement! I think amateur riders should heed my advice: be careful of how much movement you wish for in a young horse!                                                                                                                        next page>>
