The Trends of Naracoorte Encourage Preliminary was well supported by the unofficial riders this year, which is great to see. First place in both Saturday and Sunday’s tests went to young Eden Harkness on board Avanti Kryptonite, in only their second ever competition. 2nd place on Saturday went to Val Dominy and Just Jack, who travelled the long road from Adelaide. 2nd place on Sunday was Victorian Julie McErlein and her lovely Andalusion gelding, Diestro Sontaro.

On to the Novice! The Mitavite and Be Active Open Novice was again hotly contested, with some very nice horses taking part. Saturday saw Natalie Frew and Sue Smith judging, with Sunday’s classes marked by Sue Nevett and Cathy McAdie. Saturday 2C test was taken out by Mandy Maiden and the lovely mare Aprilla, and 2nd was FEI rider Cynthia Quint with RL Wellington. Sunday, Tracey Clayton with Danson Dynamic took out the 2D, and RL Wellington again in 2nd. Cynthia Quint and RL Wellington were the best performed Novice pair, taking out the Mitavite championship, and taking home the Bonnetts’ rug.

The Naboo Dressage Pony Stud Pony Novice was won by Asha Kelly and Tilley Park Charleston, impressive in both Saturday and Sunday’s tests, with Naboo Destiny and Zena Allieu 2nd in both classes.

Lace Empire Encourage Novice saw Eden Harkness and Avanti Kryptonite again victorious, making it a very successful weekend for the pair! 2nd on Saturday was Jamie Hartnett and Unique Enigma, and Sunday was Val Dominy and Just Jack.

The Horse Problems and Be Active Elementary had some lovely tests.  Judged by Maria Millikan and Sue Nevett, the 3C was won by Mandy Maiden and Aprilla. Sunday saw MSEDC member from Victoria, Anna Officer, and the lovely grey mare Anastarsia winning, judged by Liz Duncan and Natalie Frew.  Anna  and Anastarsia also took out the MSEDC Elementary Championship, testament to their consistent performance over the weekend.

The Naboo Dressage Pony Stud Pony Elementary was won by Wendy Kelly on Ellinvale Bedazzled, a very polished combination from Victoria. Runner up was Sophie Whitworth on board Zachariah Silver  Royal, the most impeccably turned out combination you could ever wish to see! The Hopkins Saddlery YR/JNR Elementary was won by Elizabeth Sobecki and Diamente Nero, performing two lovely tests on Saturday and Sunday.

Bonnetts’ Saddlery are a great supporter of this event every year, and sponsored the Medium tests for the weekend. Judges Felicity Yuncken and Barrie Stratton rewarded Ruth Schneeberger and the impressive PS Lonarto,  the winners on Saturday, with Kerrie Kirchner and Kareelah Maximus in 2nd place. Sunday again saw Ruth and PS Lonarto victorious, with judges Sue Smith and Liz Duncan placing Kerrie and Kareelah Maximus again in 2nd place. Well done to Ruth and PS Lonarto for being awarded the Bonnetts Medium Rug for 2010. We were very excited to have some ponies competing for the medium classes also – Wendy Kelly and Ellinvale Bedazzled showed us all how it was done for first place on both days, with Sophie Whitworth and the gorgeous Koora Lyn Sunrise (and nope – not seeing double, yet ANOTHER spectacularly turned out grey pony, ever so slightly taller...!).
