Manure should be removed to discourage the
breeding of flies and to aid in worm
control, this of course all good horsemen
and women already know. A full sized horse
can deposits up to 20kg of manure every day,
multiply that by even 4 weeks and that is a
considerable amount of potential grazing
area being contaminated. the recommended
schedule for paddock cleaning is every 3rd
day pick up of your paddock, for those with
just one horse and plenty of daylight time
this can be worked in, but lets face it, the
greater percentage of horse owners own 2+
horses, work 9-5, throw in a family, throw
in commitments to other halfs, throw in
weekend competitions and just were is those
hours to clean the paddocks?
