The 11th Riding Pony Gala
foal show was held at Werribee again this year.
Unfortunately entries were very low with 12 ponies
entered. However judges Penny toft from Queensland and
Gary Beaton from Victoria had some lovely ponies to
judge! The first up were the colt classes with Merivale
Park Giorgio winning the colt 11 hh and under and
Merivale Park Showtime coming second to his half brother
both colts are owned and bred by Merivale stud.
another half brother and
only entry Newington Tell Tail owned by R&S Searle won
the colt 11 to 11.2 the colt or gelding over 12 and not
exceeding 12.2 was Silkwood touch of the blues owned by
Silkwood stud. The last colt or gelding class was won by
Xtra style of Sefton owned by the Bould Family.
The filly under eleven
hands went to ascot studs Ascot Princess Royal and
second was Ashtan park Angel of mine owned by Chris
Symmons. Ascot fine china once again owned by Ascot stud
won the filly 11 to 11.2. the last filly class of the
day was won by A L Williams Willowcrest Dreams.
The champion Colt or
gelding went to the very impressive Merivale Park
Giorgio shown by Simon Parker following on from their
supreme win of last weekend at Tatura All Breeds foal
Show. reserve colt or gelding was Xtra Style of Sefton
and the Bould Family. Ascot stud took the double in the
filly championship with Ascot Fine China and Ascot
Princess Royal reserve.
The supreme foal was given
to the beautiful little man Merivale Park Giorgio and
the equally impressive Ascot fine china was awarded
