The Mitavite Medium (John Wilsher rug) was taken out by Roonie Weeks on the very imporessive mount Lordly, with Julia Weir and the gorgeous mare Rashada coming runner up. The Advanced championship was won by Hannah Newland and the ex-2* eventer, Peace Train, who turned many heads throughout the weekend, with Susan Paix and Sheer Etiquette runners up.

The Van Leueven Chocolatier FEI championship, which combined the classes of Intermediate 1, Intermediate 2

Advanced champions - L-R - Myriam Keoghan,  Julia Weir, Denise Rofe (R/u), Roonie Weeks, Hannah Newland (Ch)

and Grand Prix, was won by Ruth Schneeberger on her Grand Prix horse, Hervey Bay. Ruth and Harvey have been making SA very proud, competing regularly at Werribee and Sydney in national events, and showing what we they can do. This was Harvey's 2nd Grand Prix test and the Victorian judges were very impressed. Denise Rofe and MM Chaconne were eventual runners up.

The Van Leuven Chocolatiers Prix st Georges event was extremely well supported this year, and it was a qualifying round for the Australian Prix st Georges Challenge. Hannah Newland and Peace Train were the winners of this event, again with Denise Rofe and MM Chaconne as runner up.

The Junior champion was local rider Sarah Moyle and Original sin - a huge congratulations to Sarah who also too out the Country Attitude highest scoring local rider. The Young Rider class was won by Angela Donaldson and the stunning 3yo Danson Destiny - one to watch for the future. Valerie Dominy from the McLaren Vale area travelled to win the Encourage championship with some very impressive tests, including a grooving freestyle. Wendy Kelly from the western districts of Victoria took out the Pony championship with Jobar Piano Man.

Van Leueven Chocolatier also donated a hand-sculpted trophy for the highest percentage winner of the whole weekend - an inaugural trophy which we will present in the future also. Young rider Nicky Ferris won this amazing piece of art for 2009 - congratulations.
