Well the forecast all around was for some more of that rain, my home state was to get a belting and in Adelaide it just didn’t let up, not heavy but annoying enough to be a nuisance and not what photographers order that is for sure.

Today was a mix from show hunters, rider, the novice pony and galloway classes. Some equines showed their disapproval of the cold snap with a number of tight workouts and few frisky bucks to get things warmed up, the day really was trying all the way around.

Highly sort after is the Best Novice of the show, the novice pony section had some excellent exhibits and as is the case, there will always be a few exhibits that really stand out from the moment they step on to the arena and one was Raymond Butler’s  Karlana Opening Night [photo opposite] winning the novice 13-14hh section, the elegant grey gelding was light in front, working sweetly and so light across the ground. He was dually rewarded for his manners and style winning the Best Novice pony of the show.

Another that was a delight to watch in this section was Nicole Riemer’s Radford Lodge Candy Cane winner of the 12.2hh under, P Lay Lakevale Puss N Boots won the 12 - 12.2hh, Madeline Pagon's  Willowcroft Secret Wish won the 12.2 – 13hh and the very bright  Barrington Park Confessions  Hayes & Webster won the 13 - 13.2hh section.
