Eligibility

General

All horses/galloways and ponies must be EFA Registered to compete in the Open Barastoc, Newcomer and Owner Rider Sections.

The EFA, Victorian Branch now carries a "first year" half fee registration for new horses / galloways and ponies. This reduces the cost of new registrations and allows the owner to discard the registration of the animal for some reason does not continue to compete. If it does, the second "half fee" is payable in the following year and then stands for life registration. (owners who used this facility last year and intend exhibiting this year MUST pay the second part of the registration before entering. This will be checked)

Horses winning at Barastoc horse of the Year in either champion or reserve, gain those points (either 20 or ten accordingly) to compete at the following year's event. As the VASA Show Horse Championships are affiliated with The Equestrian Federation of Australia, Victorian Branch, qualifying points apply from this show in the same way as any agricultural show conducted in Victoria.

Owner Rider

The Owner Rider horses must be EFA registered as they MUST be entered in either the Open section or the Show Hunter or Newcomer section to be able to compete in the Owner Rider section.  Please fully read the Owner Rider Rules to ensure your hose/pony is eligible. These are also on the web site.

This is not open to any interpretation and is clearly stated above and those found to not comply with the above will be disqualified.
