Timetable
IN-HAND:- Indoor Arena 1 - the arena is split into Ring 1 & ring 2,  present to the judge in the ring that has been shown at your allocated time.

DRESSAGE: OUTDOOR ARENAS 1-5 - present to your selected arena at the time allocated - present to judge and commence

SHOWJUMPING:  please change your gear and proceed straight to the showjumping, after you have completed your dressage phase. Please note the jumping section does start from 9am not 11.30 not as stated in program. Jumping arena will close about 12.10pm half an hour after the last dressage test is finished. It will NOT stay open for stragglers. We expect people to walk the course EARLY on Thursday morning

In-hand + Dressage:- present for in-hand and  ride at your designated time or your entry is cancelled. Please note there will be no holding up dressage times or in-hand, if you miss your schedule time please present to committee to see if an available time can be made. [we are not obligated to re-schedule you if you are not ready to compete at your below times]

Freer Trophy the dressage finalists for the Freer Trophy will be posted up after the end of the comp. The Freer trophy dressage test is the EFA Novice 2.4

RULES

Open to ponies 14.2 5/8hh (as per EFA Pony height rules for dressage) and under, that have attained at least its 4th birthday on the 1st August 2008 and who are capable of completing all phases.  Note –  non jumping ponies may still compete, but will be judged only for the Special trophies.

IF YOU ARE NOT JUMPING PLEASE EMAIL FIONA DEARING ON fibee@bigbond.com ASAP so you may be placed as non jumping on the score sheets.

A pony in this section may have a change of rider for dressage or jumping. It is not necessary that it is ridden or handled by the same person in all phases.

There are Four classes  -  for;-

  • Males over 13hh and up to 14.2hh, first place wins the Lachearnleigh New Forest Pony Stud  trophy Rug.

  • Males up to 13hh, first place wins the Bindara Performance Horses  trophy Rug

  • Females up to 13hh first place wins the trophy Rug

  • Female over 13hh and up to 14.2hh first place win a the Elcho Equine B&B Trophy Rug

Plus within the section there are special awards.

  • The Mithril Welsh Pony Stud trophy for the highest placed M and M pony. M and M’s should be presented according to their breed standard.

  • For the non jumping ponies.
    The Horsewyse trophy rug for the highest placed pony, male scored on phases one two and three (non-jumping)

  • The AB Promotions Award for the highest placed pony female scored on phases one two and three – (non-jumping) 

The three highest dressage scores in each of the four sections (12 ponies) will compete at 8am on Friday morning to be awarded the champion dressage pony award which carries the Kaye E Freer painting of the winning pony valued at $350. the dressage test for this section will be given to the finalists

For dressage ponies. Of course You MAY enter the Performance Pony Championship and not jump. BUT you must contact Fiona Dearing fibee@bigpond.com after close of entries to advise of this, but you must compete in all three phases, one two and three on Thursday.

  • Phase 1: In hand presentation where the pony will be judged for it’s type, soundness and movement for performance purposes. 50 points

  • Phase 2: Dressage test.  A specially designed test to show the pony’s potential to become a high class performer as a dressage pony. The test may be called. 50 points

  • Phase 3: The jumping test, to show the horse’s ability over fences, style, talent and capability over simple, 75cm fences. 50 points

The scores will be added for a total of 150 points and the highest score will be the winner in each section.  In the case of a count back, jumping dressage in hand and ride will be used to separate in that order.

All owners will receive their total score sheet after the event, but note each individual breakdown score for each section.

Conditions

  • To be ridden in a snaffle bridle, except if necessary, in the jumping phase, where it is possible to have a stronger bit

  • It is NOT necessary to have a “show horse” type for this event as the pony is being judged for their talent as a performance pony

  • Competitors do not have to be members of the EFA Victorian Branch, but if not, must have paid the insurance levy for the day

  • Sashes to sixth placegetters

If scores are equal after the final judging, a count back will take place with the scores from jumping, dressage, in hand and ridden display considered in that order

DRESSAGE TEST:

ridden as a test, scores are made averaged throughout the test for the qualities displayed through it. The judges will mark according to the quality of the paces and the potential of the pony.

Arena 20 x 60  To be ridden in an ordinary snaffle bridle.  Trot movements sitting or rising
