But before I sign off… there are many champions that rise to the challenge, and given Barastoc is all about the best in the Country, among the Champions this week is the family that although they were unaffected personally by the fires gave up going to the show.  They loaded utes, floats and trailers and travelled up country to work over the next four days repairing fences, dropping off feed and supplies as they make their way up there.  Kate from Everton Stud is among the many that headed up the mountain to bring out horses in need, working from dawn to dusk.  Their work is not over yet, and there are many, many people jumping in working to collect goods, raising money and getting in there…. It is fitting they are mentioned here as Barastoc celebrates its Horse of the Year with its many champions, all the people standing on the front line and doing what needs to be done are equally champs
