Melbourne Summer Royal

We did not enter any of our own ponies this year, just attended as spectators! Nonetheless, Leanda was well represented by Angela Cater and Leanda Hello-Darling.  Her success includes: ~

1^st Led Part-Welsh Mare

1^st Saddle Part-Welsh Mare

2^nd Led APSB Riding Pony

and to top it off Champion Large Pony at the inaugural RAS Saddlehorse Championships

EA National Showhorse Saddle Championships

Leanda Hello-There and Angel Wings represented Victoria at the Nationals this year.  Angel Wings was awarded Reserve Champion Small Pony of the Year!  With special thanks to Holly Lewis and Emily Murray for their great rides on Angel this year.

October 2010

Angel Wings has her second son!  A bay colt born 1^st October by Rosedale Tempting.  He has been nicknamed Shiva. Imperial Quite A Girl foaled a bay colt (also by Tempting) on 6^th October called Manny.

Silkwood I’m An Angel (full sister to Angel Wings) foaled a tiny little bay filly with gorgeous markings on the 7^th.  Named ‘Precious’ – she is divine! Silkwood Heaven Blessed gave us another filly!  Brown with very similar markings to ‘Precious’ this little one is named Rosie.

EV State Titles

Our two newcomer ponies made their first appearance this weekend. Leanda Fancy Pants in the small pony section and Leanda Divine Miss Em in the large pony.

We were delighted with both ponies, both worked beautifully and we couldn’t have asked for more! Fancy Pants was Runner Up Rising Star Small Pony and also Runner Up Newcomer Small Pony. Divine Miss Em started in the newcomer section only to make the final 10 selection.

Angel Wings with Emily Murray in the saddle was Runner Up Lead Rein pony of the Year.  In the open saddle section Angel and Holly Lewis were the Champion Small Pony.  Off to the Nationals in December!

The best was yet to come though!

As a small stud we were absolutely thrilled to have our own two big ponies male it through to the final 10 of the large pony section.

Leanda Hello-Dolly and Leanda Hello-There, full brother and sister were also joined in the final 10 by two more FULL siblings owned by Angela Carter – Leanda Hello-Sailor and Leanda Hello-Darling.

4 FULL SIBLINGS in the final 10!  Win, lose or draw – we were delighted to have had all our babies as finalists of such a big event.

The icing on the cake was Leanda Hello-There was awarded Runner Up Large Pony!  Walter gave me such a great ride and I thank everyone for their support – particularly the people who pushed me to ride my own pony!!

Thankyou to Angela and Margo – for producing our girls Lottie and Polly, and to Chanele for her endless support!

Although such highs comes with lows as well, and it was today that we retired our beautiful Hello-Dolly.  She is off to the broodmare paddock, alongside her Mum - just for a couple of years.  We hope to bring her back out for Claudia to ride in the future.

Thank you to our beautiful Gracie – perfect in our eyes and much loved by us all.  A more gracious pony and gorgeous character you couldn’t find.  She has given us all the most amazing journey – we have enjoyed every moment and we look forward to the surprise of her little baby, due in Sept 2011.  In her short career, starting at Barastoc 2008, her major awards were:

A quiet month for us, concentrating on breeding as we did not enter Adelaide or Melbourne this year.

August 2010

Dainhill Highlight has produced a beautiful bay colt with 2 socks and small star.  ‘Thunder’ arrived safe and well – Cooper and Claudia helping in foaling down this mare.

The following day, Radford Lodge Rosea foaled a little bay/brown filly.

Fenwick Carmen (imp) foaled her 4^th foal for us – another filly!  We couldn’t believe our luck to have 4 girls from this beautiful old mare.  This time a black/brown filly with socks behind.  Named Daphne, we are thrilled to bits!

Angel Wings represented Victoria at the EA National Saddlehorse Championships once again. She was capably ridden by Holly Lewis in the Open section and Emily Murray in the Lead Rein class. Angel Wings was awarded back to back wins on both sections!
