The Show Horse Council SA Inc presented the HYGAIN MASTERS SA Horse of the Year. A  record number of horses entered, a total of 123 individual horse entries and 51 riders for rider classes, these horse entries were double the number received last year which was 62 individual horses. The Newcomer entries were also positive with a total of 39 entries which is a great sign for the growing show scene over here in SA. Things are certainly looking bright with plenty of new faces on the show scene.

Mr. & Mrs. Brice allowed the use of their top class venue Mallala Equestrian Centre which offers  competitors excellent stabling facilities as well as the huge indoor arena, which looked brilliant with all the HYGAIN signage. The weather was great although a touch chilly at night and the food for the competitors by the "Coffee Run" was just delicious as usual.

This year our 3 Interstate Judges for our show were John Paget from NSW, Gale Strain from WA, and Diane Godfrey from NSW. All the judges brought with them a wealth of knowledge and experience from show scenes around the country. The judges were kept busy with 2 full days worth of competition, and they coped very well with the large program. The judges were very impressed with the high standard of horses and presentation.
