Barastoc Large Pony of the Year
This
was a great final heat, many quality ponies that oozed that top show level
of work and looks. Top ten; Beauparc Parisienne owned and ridden by Laini
Seddon, Highgrove Covergirl another owner rider Jorja Elfring, Kista Park
Decoration looking very well indeed ridden by Briony Payne for owner Liz
Hoffman, Kolbeach Carnival a full season under his belt and looking every
inch the professional for owner Katrina Metherall. Langtree Center
Stage owned by Jan Langley, Langtree Royal Heiress ridden by G Hicklan
[the Langtree stud always has stock they have bred in the top tens,
another stud producing the goods for the show ring through careful
breeding] that ever sweet and just such a lovely lady Rhyl Matinee owned
and ridden by Marcia Beard, the work produce was a pleasure to watch.
Style of Wyuna and Alana Speir, Torrensway Reflection ridden by Tamara Lee
and View Bank Boyd owned and ridden by Nirrelle Somerville.
This
years winner was Rhyl Matinee, this mare has been that successful in the
show ring from Royals and right thru, excellent fronted pony with the most
feminine head and her work is so honest and runner-up was also the night
before International Champion and last years Newcomer winner Kolbeach
Carnival.
Barastoc
Galloway of the Year
Two
Willowcrofts made the top ten, Willowcroft Chance Encounter and Bree
Petrie and Willowcroft Regal Quest owned by Michael and Francesca, ridden
by Michael Christie they worked well, perhaps a little tense but what a
lovely horse, Alinda Park Make Sure owned by Alinda Park's Tania Hay and
on lease to rider Daryl Hayes worked the house down …Daryl just seems to find a horses extension and then
perfects it to a level that leaves one in awe, his work was bold, forward
and correct, on this performance it was going to be hard to beat him,
Eleda Park Yeoman the gentleman of the Galloway ring was lovely, he was
another gelding that looked even better this year, his work was sweet and
kind for rider owner Sally Watkins. Grand Parade owned by Melinda Ralp and
ridden by Whitney Hunt, Homesteasd Celebration owned and ridden by Cassie
Versteegen, Moidart Majestic Rose owned and ridden by Ellen Grant, Sophie
Coleman had her Galloway Kylandee Royal Heights travelling well. Mirinda
Height of Fashion worked brilliantly, she again lit up the arena a
beautiful mare in all ways, and the scores just got real close.
When Mirinda Height
of Fashion was called forward for the runner up, the only surprised one at
the call out for the Galloway of the Year would have been Daryl Hayes
*smile, its hard to judge just how your own horse looked when your on top
riding, but win he did, it was Alinda Park
Make Sure as this years
Galloway of the year.
Barastoc
Horse of the Year
The
top ten; Dashing ridden and owned by Christine Frost, Elmdale Park Poise
ridden by Francesca Christie owned by Christine Frost worked a absolute
treat, bold work, lovely in frame, although his extension show wasn’t up
to his normal you could easily forgive that as on the eye overall he was
clearly up to the task, Face up to It owned and ridden by Jessica Barton
worked kindly, Fifth Avenue II owned by Helen Heagney and C Young ridden
by Helen, Finis and Pam Ahern produce a sweet workout going correctly,
Grenadier Park Vision owned and ridden by Olivia O’Connor, Jessica Barton
did well with another of her hacks making the top ten been Highmount.
Lemracs Dancing Poet owned by Brain and Gary ridden by Gary looked an
absolute treat! this grand horse bloomed today, SLM Flirting owned by
Caroline Reid and ridden by Michael Christie was a delight and so far from
sitting on the outside Flirting and Poise were really standing out as hot
contenders. Last to work out was WS Black Label all flash and dash with
those white socks, owned and ridden by Caroline Wagner. As normal we were
all kept waiting while champions paraded, which is a lovely highlight to
see them grace in, the winner this year was W.S.Black Label with Elmdale
Park Poise as the runner-up. |
