Now
onto the Open Horse of the Year classes sponsored by Horseland, I
was really surprised there was not allot more smaller ponies
entered, Victoria and Sth Australia seem to have plenty of the
little pets but still what made up the final here in Tas were
absolutely adorable, and making it 3 in row moving right thru from
Newcomer to Open was Stanton Park Seven Up [boy I bet that pony will
sleep tonight!] runner up was A. Lawrence's Barjack Mr Bojangles.
Open Large Pony winner was a soft going pony, who covered the ground
evenly, H. Wright's Tungarra Forever Gay and runner up was todays
newcomer champ' Fairfield Fonteyn. The galloway class and I would be
pretty happy the winner and runner-up hanging their heads over
my stable doors !.. the winner
was bold, forward and easy on the eye, G. Gray's Headley Park Unique
and runner up was
N.
Gibson's Rivers Teagan. Now that just leaves us near to the end of
the day and it was the hacks turn to shine, first up was the judging
of the Small Hack of the Year, and having first seen Consequence
owned and ridden by T. Hay over in Victoria when she won the runner
up hack, I had a soft spot for the mare but what a difference 12mths
does, she has matured and work wise ...well the judges thought
highly of her performance as she was awarded the sash, runner up
Alluring in name and nature, owned by F. Clarke. Next was the Large
Hack and the winner was K. Blacker's Impressive, a real sweety that
looked like he gave his rider a lovely ride, runner up was D.
Zeiser's Hyde Park .To end the day there was the judging of the Leading Rein Pony of the Year Emily McSherry's Llangollen Hugo was the champion and runner up was Karan Satchithananthan's HPH Skydancer. The First Ridden was the final class of the day and was won by D. Satchithananthan's and HPH Skydancer, runner up was A. McDougall-Sharpe's Suzie Cue T Jessamine. |
