Saddle Ponies

The Champion Ridden Mountain & Moorland or Fjord - Mashiter Trophy was Mrs. Vi Gunn & M Smith’s Golden Pines Jo's Rebel a delightful dappled grey stallion. With Reserve going to the handsome Liburnam Park Piccadilly owned and exhibited by Habafield Pony Stud. Champion Saddle Stallion Kooyong Pegasus owned and ridden by Mr SD Ryan, with Reserve Champion Daintree Flashdance owned by Barr Family. Champion Saddle Mare, over 12.2 hands  Karamea Trophy was won by Mr Brian Messer’s Romnya Bolero, Reserve Mondiso Park Twinkle owned by Mr SD Ryan. Champion Saddle Mare  12.2 hands and under was won by Mrs Gina Zammit’s Mirinda Miss Money Penny and Reserve was Ms Cherie Mills Vancouver Park Anticipation. Champion Saddle Shetland  Misses N Munday & K Woolcock’s Bojinda Little Kimbo and Reserve was Mrs L, B, G & J Cameron’s Oak Park Juliet. Champion Large Saddle Pony Gelding was Mrs B.C. Williams lovely black Fairlight Acres Abbadeen and Reserve Mrs Norma Hollibone’s Barine Endeavour. Champion Small Saddle Pony Gelding was won by Mrs Kim Smith’s Qual Cryst Nearco with reserve  Mrs Kim Smith’s Cherrytree Vagabond. Supreme Champion Saddle Pony  - Narada Pony Stud Trophy was won by Romnya Bolero and Supreme Champion Saddle Gelding was Qual Cryst Nearco.

Next up was the children section of ridden ponies and its very apparent we have enough of the next generations to keep the show rings full, Champion Childs Saddle Pony for APSB Partbred or APSB Riding Pony was Qual Cryst Nearco, this typey little bay bundle is everything you could wish for as a saddle pony for children, the reserve was another good type Mirinda Miss Money Penny. The Champion Childs Saddle Pony again was true to type as an ideal children’s mount and a very successful one at that, Kirreway Beaumont owned by Blackwood Ponies, the reserve was Wattle View Fillute.

Junior Handlers

These are the adorable events, little people with their ponies and been so professional, Best Junior Handler 10 years and under was Stuart Robinson, this polite youngman is no stranger to handling ponies, his other passion is going flatout performing in camp-drafting …a true little horseman in the making. Best Junior Handler 16 years & under was Penny Johnson another young person that has been brought up with ponies and the showing life.

Best Futurity Pony  judged from all the Purebred Futurity winners was a strong line-up with Mr Peter Collins’ Fairlight Acres All That Jazz taking the honours, a lovely chestnut with chrome. Best Futurity APSB Part Bred or APSB Riding Pony judged from winners of APSB Partbred & APSB Riding Pony Futurities winners and it was the lovely black filly Karanah Park Maytime owned by Mrs Karen Parrish.

Show Hunters

Champion Led Show Hunter Pony Bamborough Pony Stud’s Bamborough Ripples, a superb pony of true type, with reserve Mrs Norma Hollibone’s Barina Endeavour. Champion Led Show Hunter Mountain & Moorland* Kahean Stud’s Glenormiston Ciaran a lovely strong type, beautifully conditioned and well worthy of the win, the reserve is one of my favourite fellows Liburnam Park Piccadilly a New Forest stallion owned by Habafield Pony Stud. Champion Led APSB P/B OR R/B Show Hunter Wattle View Pony Stud’s Mrs J Litterbach’s  Wattle View Fillute fronted up for another sash for the wall, with the Carfrae’s family Evelyn Park Mischief Maker as the reserve. Champion Ridden Show Hunter Pony Mrs Wood’s Bimbadeen Stirling, reserve was Blackwood Ponies’s Bamborough Popeye. Champion Ridden Show Hunter Mountain & Moorland  was Mrs Anna Thirkell’s Croftcnoc Chloe, I have watched Chloe grow up and by all accounts she has bloomed into a lovely mare and a super saddle mare. The reserve was Habafield Pony Stud’s Liburnam Park Piccadilly. Champion Ridden APSB P/B or R/P Show Hunter was Wattle View Pony Stud’s Mrs J Litterbach’s Wattle View Fillute with Mrs Angie Perdrisat’s Medina Paige as the reserve.

Shetland Ponies

Champion Shetland Stallion/Colt  8.2 hands and under was Miss Vicki Jenkins Laurelwood Viking the reserve was Mrs Pauline Barns & M Dekroon- Shanusti Laird. Champion Shetland Mare/Filly  8.2 hands and under was won by Thorpeville Stud and Mrs M McConville - Thorpeville Emmeline, reserve was Mrs Pauline Barns & M Dekroon’s Possum Hollow Ebony-Rose. The Supreme Champion Shetland Pony  8.2 hands and under -  Lordonvale/Otway View Trophy was Thorpeville Emmeline.

Champion Shetland Pony Mare Miss Chris Miers’s Lerwick Linda and reserve Mr. & Mr AJ & EA Carey’s Chateau Gay Gahlura. Junior Champion Shetland Pony Filly Lynvale Lodge - Mrs L Vicary/Mrs V Martin’s Lynvale Lodge Bumptious reserve Mrs Sheryle Smith’s Somerfield Special Effect.

Best Shetland Pony Yearling WH & A Oakford & Reeve’s Millbrae Kenya and the Supreme Champion Shetland Pony - Colmaur Perpetual Trophy was Miss Carly Thomas’s Careal Great Expectations.
