the 2006   APSB STUD SHOW

Once again the APSB committee turned on a super  show, each year every section under the APSB umbrella is gaining support and growth. This year saw the move over to Werribee Park, which was meet with mixed reviews on those that thought the move was great to those that preferred Geelong... such is change! no-doubt the exhausted committee will review once they have refreshed and caught their breath. The weather ...well with predicted high temperatures the outlook was a little gloomy, who would have thought we would have experienced the humidity, rain on the Saturday and then Sunday more humidity and when the sun finally came out ..very much Queensland weather.

APSB Partbred led mare or gelding, 4 years & over, Miss Carolyn Alker’s BARRINGTON SHOWGIRL won the 13hh & under, Mrs Julie Shevlin’s GOLDSTEAD JERMAIN won the 13hh & n/e 14hh and Miss Kerry Mulgrew’s  NARUNI PARK MASQUERADE took the over 14 hh class. The champion was the lovely Galloway mare NARUNI PARK MASQUERADE, a successful mare under saddle as well, she is has all the qulities you would strive to bred for. Reserve was GOLDSTEAD JERMAIN.

APSB Partbred led filly or gelding, Mrs Kristie Missen’s LAKEVALE ROYAL TWIST won the 3 years-12.2hh & under, Miss Kelly Gloede’s MONTROSE ROYAL AMBITION won the 3 years-over 12.2hh, Bannon Park BANNON PARK UNIQUE won the 2 year old class and Mrs Kirsty Porter’s ESON CHANTILLY the yearling winner. A super line up in for the championships but MONTROSE ROYAL AMBITION stood ahead to take the sash, so much like her late sire this filly is all class she went on to win the Supreme Champion as well, reserve …another lovely ESON CHANTILLY.

APSB Partbred Ridden D Drinkwater & D Roe’s WAYANDAH FREYA won the 13hh & under class, Miss Dale Williamson’s  SHELDENE PANACHE 13hh & n/e 14hh and Miss Kerry Mulgrew’s NARUNI PARK MASQUERADE winner of the over 14hh and also this years Champion Saddle exhibit, the reserve was Miss Elke & Britt Holmberg’s WINFIELD ETERNITY.

APSB Riding Pony classes have been steadely growing, in for the champion led male we had Miss Penny Cook’s BIMBADEEN MASCOT, G & Mrs A Paynter’s  WINFIELD GRAND OPENING who won the reserve championship and  Miss P&M Adams: DUNLEM LOOKING GLASS the Champion APSB RP male exhibit. 

Mrs A Hewitt & A Bakker’s THORWOOD DIXIELAND won the Riding Pony mare led n/e 13hh and reserve led RP mare and Uhavta Stud’s UHAVTA BUTTONS & BOWS winner of the 13hh - 14.2hh was the Champion.

Miss Kirsty Beattie’s SIALER PARK PALACE PLAYBOY won the best APSB RP foal, Miss P&M Adams’s DUNELM HEARTBEAT won the 2-3yr filly and reserve champion, Miss Renee Cottrill’s  PENNYROYAL PICTURE PERFECT won her yearling class and was the Champion Filly.

The RP Gelding championships we saw Mrs Shandelle Parkes’s DARLTON PARK ROYAL OBSESSION winner of the under 3yrs class, and Miss Dale Williamson’s ROYLANCE OF WYUNA winner of the 4yrs and over section and the champion led RP gelding. Mrs Janette Litterbach’s WATTLE VIEW FILLUTE went reserve champion.

The line-up for the Supreme was evenly contended for with the broad sash going to UHAVTA BUTTONS & BOWS.

Next was the ridden section of the APSB Riding Ponies, with the always bright Miss Dale Williamson’s ROYLANCE OF WYUNA been awarded the Champion Ridden APSB RP exhibit and reserve a another equally delightfull pony Mrs Janette Litterbach’s WATTLE VIEW FILLUTE as the reserve.

Harness Ponies The led-non hackney section, Mrs Elsa Avery’s ACHERON MIDNIGHT was awarded the Best exhibit led harness pony - non hackney. The hackney ponies led, the Lane Families FINALITY FRIZZLE won the champion led hackney pony stallion or colt and Supreme champion led hackney pony, reserve was Miss Robyn Anderson’s REIGATE FRANKLY TOO. Champion led hackney mare or filly was Mr & Mrs T O'Connor’s  MOSWYN MOONLIGHT SHIMMER and reserve champion their DALRIADA NATALIE. Best Novice Exhibit sponsored by Robin Park Pony Stud was Ms Beryl Doonan’s DUTTON LEA ROULETTE.

Champion harness shetland pony  gelding was Miss Carly Thomas CAREAL GREAT EXPECTATIONS and reserve W H Oakford & A Reeve’s MILLBRAE MEDALLION.  Champion harness gelding  non hackney was Mrs Elsa Avery’s ACHERON MIDNIGHT and reserve Mrs Elsa Avery PENBAYR LICORICE.

The Mary Healy best harness hackney sponsored by the Victorian Branch in memory of Mrs Mary Healy OBE and the Kevin Dempsey supreme champion harness pony went to Mr & Mrs T O'Connor’s DALRIADA NATALIE.
